Differences between Facebook and a chair – comments.

I came across an interesting Facebook advertisement. I could not hold myself to comment on it but unfortunately comments were disabled on the original YouTube video.
So here’s why this Facebook advertisement is not only irrelevant but is offensive:

  • Facebook is dealing with people’s faces not their rear ends.
  • A chair connects a person to the ground, not to other person.
  • A chair never looks into my rear and shares this information with strangers.
  • A chair will never add an extra leg suddenly because a monopolised chair manufacturer decided to.

The comparison of Facebook to a chair may have been prompted by Clint Eastwood during the Republican conference before the recent American election where he spoke to Obama via an empty chair — this event was very highly publicised by one side and criticised by the other. Eastwood video
